A small clinical study in New Orleans showed that dark chocolate improves the function of blood vessels.
Whilst there is a caution against bingeing on chocolate the findings of the trial were clear and larger studies are called for to confirm the results. The findings of the study does not suggest that people should start eating more chocolate as part of their daily diet but it does suggest that more attention is paid to how dark chocolate and other flavonoid-rich foods might offer cardiovascular benefits.
