Stem Cells may heal fractures

A team from Edinburgh University are working on a technique to mend shattered bones and cartlidge using a patients own stem cells.

The project could eventually have an impact on treating conditions such as osteoarthritis, where the elderly do not heal well after a fracture.

The project is still ongoing but Doctors hope to begin testing the procedure in patients within two years.
