Falling asleep more difficult for the elderly

Recent research has indicated that an adjustable bed is beneficial to the elderly in terms of relaxation and getting to sleep.  The research shows that the older you get the greater difficulty people have falling asleep at night.

The research carried out by the University of Surrey involving over 100 individuals with varying sleep abnormalities indicated that elderly people take as much as double the length of time to fall asleep compared to younger people.

The research indicates that these elderly people could benefit from an electric adjustable bed as adjustable beds allow for a number of different sleeping positions.
