Researchers at the Alzheimers society are beginning studies looking
at the effects of a 'Mediterranean diet'. Data will be analysed
to see if this diet rich in fruit, vegtables and cereals with some
fish and alcohol could help to reduce the risk of developing Alzheimers.
Although following a diet such as this will not guarantee cures
or prevention, researchers hope it will enable them to offer genuine
advice to people to help them reduce the risk of developing such
terrible illnesses.
The studys first findings are expected in July.
