Age Concern have set up a "Silver Surfer week" inconjunction
with BT and Microsoft. The scheme will see more that 1,500 IT taster
sessions available to the elderly.
In a recent report a total of 44% of over 50's say they have no
access to a computer, but those that do, feel that they are very
beneficial.
Along with the IT taster sessions a bus will also tour towns giving
many people the opportunity to experience on-line life and see how
lifes can be improved through the use of online shopping and services.
