A recent study in America has shown that a reduction in carbohydrates
can actually improve the blood fat levels.
Scientist who have been investigating now believe that carbohydrates
can cause unhealthy changes in blood fats by causing fats to collect
in the liver which eventually find there way into the bloodstream.
Cutting down on these fat deposits by cutting carbs may also boost
the bodys ability to break down fats that do get in the bloodstream.
In a study of 178 overweight men, those who had the lowest carbohydrate
intake on a "standard" diet showed reductions in "bad"
LDL cholesterol levels, and also enjoyed an increase in the ration
of "good" HDL chloesterol.
